The game begins with Maya arriving at her childhood home in rural Japan. After a brief cutscene, you'll gain control of Maya inside the family house.

Initial Exploration

Start by exploring the main room, examining objects to trigger memories and collect items. Head upstairs to Maya's old bedroom to find a key that unlocks the basement.

Basement Investigation

In the basement, you'll discover a locked cabinet. Search the rest of the basement to find the key hidden behind a loose brick in the wall. Inside the cabinet, you'll find important documents that hint at the town's dark history.

Leaving the House

After exploring the house, exit through the front door to trigger a cutscene where Maya notices the town has changed dramatically. Follow the path to the village center, collecting any items you find along the way.

First Enemy Encounter

Shortly after reaching the village center, you'll encounter your first enemy - a twisted humanoid creature. Use the environment to evade it or find a weapon to defend yourself.

Reaching the Village Store

From the village center, follow the dirt path east until you reach the old school building. The entrance is locked, so you'll need to find an alternative way in.

Explore the school grounds to find a maintenance shed with a ladder inside. Use the ladder to climb to an open window on the second floor.

Classroom Puzzles

Inside the school, you'll need to solve several puzzles to progress. The first puzzle involves matching symbols found around the classroom to unlock a teacher's desk containing a key to the library.
